What we do: Empowering Travelers, Enriciching Communities

Over the past two years, we've had the honor of hosting over 100 tourists (avg. 4.8 stars on TripAdvisor). Beyond providing travelers with a distinctive cultural experience, our tours play a pivotal role in bolstering the local economy and supporting vital community initiatives. Each step taken through Kibera not only unveils its resilience but also contributes to the collective efforts towards positive change and empowerment within the community.

Explore.

Embark on a journey through Kibera accompanied by guides deeply rooted in its fabric, such as my brother Daniel. Having grown up within Kibera's streets, Daniel possesses unparalleled insights and personal narratives that enrich the tour experience. His intimate knowledge not only illuminates the sights but also fosters genuine connections with the community, offering visitors profound context and understanding.

Immerse.

Many NGOs and community-based organizations operate within Kibera, running schools, health clinics, and other development projects. Visiting these initiatives can give you a deeper understanding of the challenges and resilience of the community.

Experience the heart of Kibera's transformation through visits to impactful community initiatives, including the Okolea Mtaa Foundation. These organizations serve as beacons of hope, empowering residents through education, healthcare, and vocational training. By engaging with children and volunteers at these projects, visitors gain firsthand insights into the positive strides being made toward breaking the cycle of poverty in Kibera.

Meet.

Engage with the residents of Kibera to learn about their daily lives, struggles, and aspirations.

Kibera is home to a vibrant artistic community. Visit local art and crafts shops in the community and support their projects if possible.

By approaching your visit with sensitivity, respect, and an open mind, you will gain valuable insight into life in Kibera and contribute to a positive change in the community.

Absorb.

Embarking on a Nairobi city tour offers a dynamic exploration of Kenya's capital, blending traditional markets, iconic landmarks, and vibrant urban culture. “I spent 4 days with Elijah in Nairobi, and had a great experience, 10/10!
Not only he was super friendly and down to earth, but also highly knowledgeable about Kibera, Nairobi and Kenyan history. He also accommodated to any requests I had, even if they involved a sudden change of plans!
Couldn't recommend Elijah more :)”

“I had the Kibera tour with Elijah along with Lucas support. Both of them are fantastic!
Very responsive and respectful.
I took the tour alone, I am a woman, there where no other people and Elijah made me feel very comfortable, he knows the area very well and he is always open to any questions. After the tour ended, both Elijah and Lucas waited until my Uber picked me up, they didn't have to, but they where very hospitable.

“It was really nice. Our tour guide Elijah was very patient, responsive to our questions, and gave detailed explanations about Kibera. They are also supporting a local education program, to which part of the fee goes.”
